Toyo NASA Championships Contingency

RICHMOND, CA – June 26, 2008. NASA is pleased to announce that Toyo Tires® will offer a lucrative prize package to the top finishers at the NASA Championships Presented by Toyo Tires® at Mid Ohio on September 11-14th, 2008. Toyo is offering nearly $200,000 in cash and gift certificate awards to NASA racers that run Toyo competition tires. “We are thrilled that Toyo has chosen to not only continue their previous level of rewards, but also to expand the program to include all classes at the Championship event,” said Ryan Flaherty NASA’s National Chairman.

Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp.’s Manager of Events and Motorsports, Stan Chen said, “The second annual NASA Championship event continued the success of the first providing some spectacular racing and furious competition. The event is ideal for Toyo’s Proxes RA1 and new Proxes R888, showcasing both tires’ winning performance and consistency. We are proud to be the presenting sponsor of this event and it is an honor to bring this level of support to the NASA racers.”

Racers in classes that do not specify use of Toyo Tires will be awarded “Toyo Dollars” rebate certificates in the order of finish and by the size of class entrants who start the race. Racers qualified for awards will need to print out the Toyo rebate form found HERE and follow the instructions listed on the form.

To be eligible for this program, entrants must have competed on Toyo competition tires and displayed official Toyo decals with a minimum of four 2”X18” “TOYO TIRES” on the front, rear, and both sides of the car.

Program Summary:

* Hoosier Racing Tire is an Official Contingency Sponsor of the 2008 NASA National Championships®.
* This is an optional contingency awards program.

Program Duration:

* 2008 NASA National Championships® (Championship race only)

Registration:

* Participants only need to register once unless there is a necessary change to the
original registration.
* You must be registered in the program before competing. No awards will be
paid if you are not enrolled prior to competing in an eligible event.

* It is the entrant’s responsibility to register properly and neatly apply decals and
patches.

Requirements:

* Competitor must use Hoosier Racing Tires on all four wheel positions.
* Decals Required: YES
* # of Decals: 3
* Location: One on each side and one on the front.
* Patches Required: YES, one on the chest pocket area of the driver’s suit
* Availability: Decals will be mailed once registered. Additional decals/patches are

* All AIX, GTS, PT, ST, SU, TT, 944 Cup, 944 Super Cup.

Award Information:

* Product awards are presented to all eligible 1st and 2nd place drivers at the 2008 NASA National Championships®.
* Awards are only eligible for the final Championship race and the final TT results which crown the National Champions, 2nd and 3rd place finishers.
* Awards are to be redeemed directly through Hoosier Racing Tire, not your local
Dealer.
* A copy of the Official race results and a Hoosier Tire Contingency Redemption Form should be forwarded to Hoosier Racing Tire as soon as possible following the event to ensure timely processing. Contingencies will not be awarded until both items are submitted to and received by Hoosier Racing Tire. This is a mandatory requirement and there will be no exceptions. Payout Schedule:

* All eligible classes must start a minimum of 5 cars
* 5 – 9 cars, 1st – 2 tires, 2nd – 1 tire
* 10+ cars, 1st – 4 tires, 2nd – 2 tires, 3rd – 1 tire

SPRINT & ENDURO RACES
1st Place - 2 Tires
2nd Place - 1 Tire

Note: There must be a minimum of three (3) cars that start your class in order to claim a 1st place award and a minimum of five (5) cars that start in your class to claim a 2nd place award.

In addition to the compliance with the applicable competition rules and regulations in effect at the time of the event, the following Hoosier Contingency Award Program Guidelines must be adhered to.

Hoosier Racing Tires must be used on all four wheel positions in any NASA Sprint or Enduro race or championship for which you are claiming an award.

To participate in Hoosier's NASA contingency program, race tires must be purchased through one of our authorized trackside dealers/distributors.

Hankook Tire Contingency 2008

Hankook Tire America Corp. and Hankook Motorsports have provided a lucrative 2008 contingency award program that NASA Performance Touring, Super Touring, and Super Unlimited racers are eligible to partake in at both regional events and at the NASA Championships.  Awards for regional events are in the form of Hankook Dollar certificates, which are redeemable towards the purchase of Hankook Ventus race tires from any official Hankook Motorsports dealer.  Awards for the NASA Championships are cash prizes.  Payouts are as follows:

Regional Races and Qualifying Races at the NASA Championships  

4 starters

2nd         $H 100
3rd          $H 85

1st          $H 200
2nd       $H 150
3rd       $H 100

Drivers may claim an award in one class per race.  Maximum of 2 awards per day. 

All classes are eligible.

Decals must be displayed in 3 places, over front fenders and on the windshield banner. If windshield is occupied, a decal must be displayed on the front of vehicle.

The total potential value of this program to NASA Performance Touring and ST/SU drivers, if all potential maximum payouts occurred, would be over $450,000 in Hankook Dollar Certificates and $20,000 in cash prizes.  A driver may use any Hankook Ventus tire to qualify.  So, under the Performance Touring Rules, the following tires would be eligible: Ventus RSS Z211 (DOT treaded-type), Ventus Z214 (DOT “slick”-type), Ventus F200 (non-DOT slick), the Ventus Z206 and Z207 wet race tires, as well as any Ventus DOT performance/street tire.  You can find more information on the available tire sizes and specifications here:
