Approved Engine Swaps

In order to get an engine swap approved, you need to submit the following information to the National PT Director (by e-mail) so that he can rapidly assess your swap. Incomplete requests will take much longer to process. Most vehicles will need to have certified chassis dyno testing and weight measurement to be classed:

1) Engine donor vehicle--year, make, model
2) Engine--model #/name, disp, #cyl, valvetrain/var. valve timing?, hp/tq
3) Receiving vehicle--year, make, model, subtype and trim type (if applicable), curb weight, and actual minimum competition weight if known.
4) Reliable references (two reliable Internet sources are preferred) regarding the engine and car.
5) Dynojet dynamometer maximum hp and tq (if AWD, then Dynojet, Dynopack, Mustang, or Dyno Dynamics dyno numbers)
6) Minimum Competition Weight (with driver)
7) NASA home region, your name, series (PT, TT, or both)

This is the list of engine swaps that have been pre-approved for 2010, and the method that will be used to assess the swap. All of these swaps can be legally reproduced by any PT competitor:

All currently pre-approved swaps are listed in the 2010 PT Rules.
